V-neck dress with ballooned 3/4 sleeves, voluminous tiered skirt and all over multicoloured hand embroidered motifs. Made in ivory organic cotton.

This dress is carefully handmade and hand-embroidered in India. The delicate traditional embroidery is done by talented embroiderers in Mumbai, India. Muzungu Sisters continues to value and champion hand-embroidery which is sadly a dying art due to the increased popularity of machine-embroidery.

About this collection
We embarked on a voyage along the River Nile that inspired us infinitely. We explored Luxor temple by the light of the moon. At the Valley of the Queens we were stunned by the impeccably preserved colours in the Tomb of Nefertari. We stood in awe of Queen Hatshepsut, the era’s most prolific builder. The banks of the Nile itself seem to emit an otherworldly feeling. As we sailed slowly by the date palms, we marveled at the tranquility of the river in awe of the feats of the great civilization capable of such wonder.

Our new collection On the Nile is our homage to life on the Nile. May the pieces in this collection inspire the wearer with the strength of the pharaohs, and the serenity of the Nile.
