Printed blouse with hand-embroidered floral motifs and romantic ruffles on the shoulders and sleeves.
Pair with matching June shorts in Blue Mushroom.
This blouse in blue mushroom print, features traditional Zardozi hand-embroidered floral motifs on the bodice, and shares the same silhouette as our popular and classic Hungarian Nora Blouse. Muzungu Sisters continues to value and champion hand-embroidery which is sadly a dying art due to the increased popularity of machine-embroidery. Pair this blouse with our matching Talitha pants and loafers.
The organic cotton used on the Nora blouse is traditionally handwoven and hand-loomed in one of the last remaining traditional mills in Tamil Nadu, South India. It is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment, with systems in place to replenish and sustain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilisers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Our organic cotton is GMO free; cotton crops are not treated with pesticides, insecticides, herbicides.
Conventionally grown cotton uses more insecticides than any other crop in the world. These -pesticides and insecticides used in cotton production contaminate the soil we use to grow crops, the air we breathe and the water we drink. The deaths of animals exposed to these contaminants are counted in the millions every year. The damage caused to us and the environment by growing non-organic cotton is enormous and is a real threat to us and our planet.
