UK price inc VAT £480.00

Our shibori hand-dyed linen Frangipani dress features a v-neckline, cream colour criss cross embroidery on the bodice, three-quarter-length sleeves, and a voluminous tiered skirt.

The dress is carefully handmade and hand-embroidered in India. The delicate traditional embroidery is done by talented women embroiderers in Mumbai, India. Muzungu Sisters continues to value and champion hand-embroidery which is sadly a dying art due to the increased popularity of machine-embroidery.

This item has been hand-dyed by women from Khamar, India using the traditional Shibori tie-dye technique. Each panel of fabric is hand-knotted, hand-dyed using chemical-free dye, and eventually dried in the shade. The whole process takes about two weeks to complete. Each fabric panel is truly a unique piece of art.

Muzungu Sisters ensures that all the garments are produced in fully certified ethical production facilities exceeding ILO (International Labour Organisation) standards.

The embroidery on these pieces have been done entirely by hand by talented embroiderers in Mumbai, India. Muzungu Sisters continues to value and champion hand-embroidery, which is sadly a dying art due to the increase in popularity of machine-embroidery.
