Rainbow Fique Mochila IV

Long natural drawstring bucket bag made from 100% fique grass, or Mexican agave fibre.

From Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in the northeast of Colombia, the bags are woven by female members of the indigenous Kankuamo tribe. Once the fibres have been extracted, they’re washed and then bleached by the sun. The dye used to add different colourways come from local plants and tree barks ensuring the whole process is completely organic.

With the versatility of a lengthy bag strap, one can wear either straight on the shoulder or across the body for comfort. When travelling this is the perfect accessory to throw in your suitcase, as it is virtually weightless, small enough to take dancing yet expands with surprising capacity.
